Do you need a ticket to get into the NFL Draft? How to access fan events in Kansas City

The NFL Draft kicks off Thursday, and Kansas City is finishing its preparations. Union Station and the National WWI Museum and Memorial will soon be filled with fans from all over the country.

While draft events — including the fan festival on the South Lawn and the fan viewing area on the North Lawn — are free, fans need to register in advance.

All attendees must download the NFL OnePass app and register for the event to get a ticket to show at the entry gate.

To register, you will need to enter your name, email address, date of birth and your country of origin. The app and registration for the event are free, and you have to be at least 18 years old. Parents and guardians can use their registration for up to five kids.

Once you register, you will receive a unique QR code. This acts as your ticket and will allow you to enter the Draft Experience fan festival and participate in the many activities spread out.

Security will scan your QR code at the entry gates and let you inside.

This ticket will not give you access to the NFL Draft Theater. Only invited ticket holders will get to sit by the stage, including fans who paid for exclusive NFL Draft ticket packages. The NFL said that fans may have a chance to fill in the standing room only section, or other seats depending on availability. Those will be first come, first served.

The NFL OnePass app has a list of activities happening every day during the NFL Draft, including autograph sessions for past and current NFL athletes and kicking a field goal through the uprights.

You can take a look at this interactive map to see where everything is located during the NFL Draft.
