The NBA is returning to the Sprint Center on Oct. 8, when the Miami Heat will play the Minnesota Timberwolves in an exhibition game.

The Timberwolves are led by the NBA’s last two rookies of the year, Andrew Wiggins of Kansas and Karl-Anthony Towns of Kentucky, both No. 1 overall draft picks. Wiggins last played at Sprint Center as a KU freshman during the 2014 Big 12 Tournament.

Minnesota also has Zach LaVine, the slam-dunk champion from the last two NBA All-Star Weekends.

The Heat are led by Dwyane Wade, a three-time NBA champion and MVP of the 2006 NBA Finals.

The last NBA exhibition in Kansas City, in 2014, pitted the Heat and the Golden State Warriors. The Heat and Timberwolves are also playing an exhibition game this October in Louisville, Ky.

Tickets are on sale noon Friday at SprintCenter.com, the Sprint Center box office or by calling 888-929-7849.
