Hunt, Shepard win first races at Lakeside Speedway

Trevor Hunt, a 15-year-old from Kearney, dominated the 25-lap USRA A-Modified feature for his first career victory, and Yancy Shepard of Smithville took his first win in the USRA B-Modified feature on Friday night at Lakeside Speedway.

Veteran Marshall Jewett of Gardner the entire 15-lap USRA Stock Car feature for his first win of the season. The only repeat winner was Tim Shields, who picked up his third feature win of the season in the Grand National division.

In other area racing, pole sitter Darren Hagen led all 30 laps and claimed his first POWERi Lucas Oil National Midget Series win of the season at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley.
