Drivers to watch in Friday night’s ARCA Dawn 150 at Kansas Speedway? Try these ...
Friday night brings the sights and sounds of ARCA back to Kansas Speedway. Minus live spectators, of course, due to the pandemic.
Here are five competitors who could each have a shot at the checkered flag.
Michael Self, No. 25 Toyota
Self, 19, began the season by winning at Daytona from the pole and leads the standings. He’s finished in the top five in six of seven races. Self, from Park City, Utah, finished second at Kansas Speedway last fall, leading 57 of 100 laps.
Drew Dollar, No 15 Toyota
Dollar, 19, won at Talladega for Venturini Motorsports this season and has four top-10 finishes, including a third at Daytona. Dollar, from Atlanta, finished seventh in the ARCA race at Kansas last fall.
Hailie Deegan, No. 4 Ford
Deegan, 19, is one of the promising women drivers in the sport. Deegan, of Temecula, Cal., has been consistent with five top 10 finishes, including second at Daytona and third at Indianapolis. She was eighth last fall at Kansas.
Bret Holmes, No. 23 Chevrolet
Holmes, 23, is looking for his first career ARCA win, but he’s come awfully close, including second at Kentucky and third at Talladega and Iowa and is second in the standings. Holmes, of Munford, Ala., was fourth at Kansas last fall.
Thad Moffitt, No. 46 Ford
Moffitt, 19, has four top 10 finishes, including fifth at Daytona and Indianapolis. Moffitt, of Trinity, N.C., will be making his Kansas Speedway debut.
