The unique title sponsor couldn’t boost television ratings for the SpongeBob SquarePants 400 at Kansas Speedway on Saturday.

The rain-delayed race drew a 1.5 overnight rating on Fox Sports 1, down 55 percent (3.3) from last year and 62 percent (3.9) from 2013, according to Sports Media Watch. Both of those races were broadcast on the Fox broadcast network.

The delay had an impact. A storm moved through the area about 7:40 p.m., 98 laps into the race, and caused a 2-hour, 17-minute delay. The race ended early Sunday morning.

The race, won by Jimmie Johnson, averaged a 1.7 before the delay and a 1.4 afterward.
