Jimmie Johnson won a rain-delayed SpongeBob SquarePants 400 in a race that started around 6:30 p.m. Saturday and ended just after midnight at Kansas Speedway.

Kevin Harvick finished second, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. was third.

On Saturday, 98 laps were run at a quick pace — only three cautions — at the SpongeBob SquarePants 400 when a storm hit and the race was stopped. The race got going again under green on lap 108.

Martin Truex Jr. was the leader when the race was halted by rain for the second straight year, followed by Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch, Kasey Kahne and Kyle Larson.

Truex held the lead for 38 laps. Pole sitter Joey Logano led for the first 29 laps, Busch for 20 and Harvick for seven.

Last year, rain delayed the start for 37 minutes. Also, a power outage left the backstretch without lights during the first half of the 5-Hour Energy 400. The race wasn’t delayed and Jeff Gordon went on to win the race.
