Terry Phillips wins U.S. Modified race at Lakeside Speedway
Terry Phillips of Springfield, Mo. passed Rodney Sanders on the 10th lap and held on to win the United States Modified Touring Series feature on Friday night at Lakeside Speedway.
Jeremy Payne passed Nic Bidinger on the final lap and took third.
In other classes:
Max Harder became the 12th different driver to win a first feature race at Lakeside when he led from green to checkered in the USRA B-Mod division.
Veteran John O’Neal Jr. of Kansas City, Kan. outraced points leader Brett Heeter to the finish in the USRA Stock Car feature.
Tim Shields won his 11th race of the season in Grand National, holding off the challenges of Gary Donaldson, who finished second and Houston Johnson, who was third.
