Just like last year, Royals surpass 1 million in attendance after 31 games at Kauffman Stadium

The 1 millionth fan entered Kauffman Stadium this season on Friday.

With attendance announced at 37,746 for the game against the Tigers, the Royals are slightly behind last year’s record-setting pace.

The Royals have drawn 1,005,544 for 31 home games, an average of 32,437.

The team also surpassed 1 million fans in its 31st home game last season, and the team finished with an average attendance of 33,438 after drawing a franchise-record 2,708,549 to the park in 81 games during 2015.
