Royals pitcher Kris Medlen gets positive results from MRI
Royals starter Kris Medlen was short on specifics about his return but long on optimism when discussing the results of his MRI on Friday.
The test revealed a Grade 1 strain of his right rotator cuff.
“Some slight inflammation,” Medlen said. “It shouldn’t be anything too serious … pretty mild compared to what it could have been.”
Medlen was placed on the 15-day disabled Thursday. He suffered shoulder soreness after his start Tuesday in New York.
Medlen isn’t on a throwing schedule.
“We’ll give him a couple of days off, see where he’s at, and we’ll kind of go day to day before he starts throwing,” Royals manager Ned Yost said.
