As he tried to separate from the mob scene that surrounded him after the Justin Bieber concert at the Sprint Center on Wednesday, Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer noticed a girl had fallen trying to reach him.

The crowd didn’t stop approaching, possibly putting the girl in danger, so Hosmer cleared space and helped up the girl.

“I just saw a girl fall in front of me and I helped her up,” Hosmer said. “It wasn’t anything heroic or anything like that.

“I think that happened before we all realized what was going on. Just helped her up her real quick, just doing what a guy should do. You see someone fall you should help her up.”

Hosmer said he was taken aback by the attention he received leaving the concert he attended with teammates Alex Gordon, Mike Moustakas and Wade Davis among others.

“I definitely didn’t except that to happen,” Hosmer said. “I was just there with the boys. I think a lot of people caught wind of us being there. There was a lot of excitement, but (I) definitely didn’t expect that (mob scene) to happen.”
