Royals agree to one-year contracts with 11 players

The Royals announced Thursday that they’ve agreed to one-year contracts with 11 players: pitchers Scott Alexander, Miguel Almonte, Alec Mills and Kyle Zimmer; infielders Cheslor Cuthbert and Raul Mondesi; and outfielders Jorge Bonifacio, Brett Eibner, Terrance Gore, Jose Martinez and Bubba Starling.

Four of the players — Alexander, Almonte, Cuthbert and Gore — have Major League service time, and Mondesi made his major-league debut in the 2015 World Series.

Bonifacio, Eibner, Martinez, Mills, Mondesi, Starling, Zimmer agreed to the league minimum ($507,500). Cuthbert will receive $509,425; Alexander’s deal is for $508,800; Almonte and Gore for $508,500.

Six players remained unsigned: pitchers Brian Flynn and Matt Stahm, infielders Christian Colon and Ramon Torres and outfielders Reymond Fuentes and Paulo Orlando.
