Royals single-game tickets on sale Feb. 26

The Royals have announced on-sale dates and times for 2016 single-game tickets at Kauffman Stadium.

Tickets for every home game except the home opener go on sale online at 10 a.m. Feb. 26, only at royals.com. Phone sales at 800-676-9257 don’t start until 9 a.m. Feb. 27 and in-person sales at the Kauffman Stadium Box Office or Hy-Vee outlets won’t begin until 9 a.m. Feb. 29.

Once again, there will be a lottery system to determine who will be eligible to purchase single-game tickets for the home opener, which this year falls on opening night for the Major League Baseball season. The Royals will raise their 2015 World Series championship banner before they take on the team they defeated in last year’s fall classic, the New York Mets, at 7:37 p.m. Sunday, April 3.

Fans can enter the lottery online at royals.com/openingnight through noon March 4. According to the team, winners will be notified by email on or around March 9 and will receive a passcode that will allow them to purchase tickets. Fans who purchase 81-game or 41-game season-ticket plans are guaranteed seats for the opener.
