Roundup: KC vs. NY World Series challenges and wagers
There is no shortage of World Series wagering going between high-profile fans of the Royals and Mets. To help you keep track, here’s the current list of the major wagers that have been issued.
1. Simon Thorpe, the president of the company that owns Boulevard Brewing Co., has accepted a bet with Brooklyn Brewery co-founder Steve Hindy. According to a post about the bet on brooklynbrewery.com, the losing city’s brewery must pour the winning city’s beer from their taps for one week after the Royals-Mets World Series. Thorpe and Hindy have also agreed that the loser of the bet must wear the opposing team’s ball cap and “toast the victor with their representative beer.”
It's on, @BrooklynBrewery. The @Royals are going to #TakeTheCrown! https://t.co/fs0zScck7m pic.twitter.com/Fu1kBOZBRT
— Boulevard Brewing Co (@Boulevard_Beer) October 27, 2015Oh? That's cool of you to send congratulatory beer in addition to pouring our beer in your tap room after we win. https://t.co/FeWFSo6Qmk

Michael Stern, the Kansas City Symphony’s music director, says if the Mets win the World Series the symphony will send a barbecue lunch to the New York Philharmonic and its conductor, Alan Gilbert. The symphony also will play “New York, New York” while Stern wears a Mets jersey at a future performance. If the Royals win, Gilbert will don a Royals jersey. At his next concert in New York, the philharmonic will play as an encore, “Everything Is Up to Date in Kansas City.” New York will also send New York’s finest bagels, cream cheese and lox to the members of the Kansas City Symphony.
3. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has agreed to wear a Royals jersey for a full day of work if they win. Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon will wear a Mets jersey if New York wins. Each governor has also prepared a basket of home-state goodies, including ribs from Kansas City and bagels from Queens. The winning governor gets the basket.

If the Mets win, James will go to Kansas City Ballet, wear a Mets jersey and sing “New York, New York.” James suggested if the Royals win, de Blasio go to a ballet school in New York, wear a Royals jersey and sing “Kansas City.” James also said if de Blasio agrees to the bet, he will throw in Kansas City ribs if the Mets win. And James suggested de Blasio send New York cheesecake if the Royals win.
Hey @MayorSlyJames – up for a friendly #WorldSeries wager? @JuniorsCheeseck for some of your tasty BBQ?
— Bill de Blasio (@BilldeBlasio) October 27, 20155. The American Jazz Museum on 18th Street and New York’s Louis Armstrong House Museum’s wage involves music, of course.
If the Mets win, the Louis Armstrong museum will receive a basket full of jazz-related treasures from the American Jazz Museum. Among them will be the “People’s Journey” DVD story of Kansas City’s historic 18th & Vine Jazz District and photo prints from the museum’s archives. If the Royals win, the American Jazz Museum will be showered with Louis Armstrong’s Ambassador CDs, giclee prints from its Jack Bradley Collection and several notable books on the jazz great.
6. Actor/Royals fan Eric Stonestreet and Jimmy Kimmel, a Mets fan, bet this: The loser has to climb into a bounce house, and the other will shoot paintballs at him for one minute.
Stonestreet has been practicing.
