Royals agree to terms with seven players under club control
The Royals have agreed to one-year contracts for seven different players not yet eligible for arbitration. The richest deal goes to third baseman Mike Moustakas, who will earn $549,000 and can receive a $50,000 bonus if he makes his first All-Star Game. Moustakas can reach arbitration after this season.
Reliever Louis Coleman signed for $537,000, new backup third baseman Danny Valencia signed for $532,500 and hard-throwing righty Kelvin Herrera signed for $522,500.
The final three players all agreed to $500,000 deals: Outfielder Lane Adams, infielder Cheslor Cuthbert, and lefty Justin Marks.
The team still has 13 more contracts to finalize.
