See photos from Royals’ victory over Cardinals in I-70 Series finale at St. Louis

The Kansas City Royals closed out the latest edition of Major League Baseball’s I-70 Series against the Cardinals on Sunday afternoon at Busch Stadium.

And they did it in style, salvaging a 2-0 shutout victory in this three-game set after dropping the first two games in St. Louis on Friday and Saturday.

Stepen Kolek started for the Royals on Sunday and pitched an excellent game, while team captain/catcher Salvador Perez homered and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Closer Lucas Erceg pitched the ninth and got the save.

The Royals’ victory snapped a six-game losing streak. They open a homestand at Kauffman Stadium on Monday, with the first of three games against the Boston Red Sox set to begin at 6:40 p.m.
