Royals promotions this week: Jersey giveaway, three bobbleheads, Military Day

The unofficial midway point of the Major League Baseball season is a week away, and the Royals have five more games before the first half ends ahead of the All-Star Game.

All are at Kauffman Stadium.

And the Royals are squeezing in a number of special promotions in those games. Here is a look at what the team has planned.

Tuesday

Pirates at Royals, 6:10 p.m.

The first 15,000 fans will be given a Cole Ragans “Collector Card Series” bobblehead. And hot dogs will be sold for $1.

Wednesday

Pirates at Royals, 6:10 p.m.

Fans who purchase a theme ticket will receive a bobblehead of catcher Salvador Perez with a Superman costume under his jersey.

The new Superman movie opens soon, and the Royals will have a photo op at Kauffman Stadium featuring the Fortress of Solitude. That is the superhero’s man cave at the north pole. The bobbleheads will be distributed inside Gate A at 5 p.m.

Friday

Mets at Royals, 7:10 p.m.

The Royals beat the Mets in the 2015 World Series, so with New York returning to Kauffman Stadium, the first 20,000 fans will receive an Eric Hosmer 2015 Champs bobblehead.

There also will be a postgame fireworks show.

Saturday

Mets at Royals, 3:10 p.m.

The Royals are planning special Military Day that will include :a flyover by CH-47 Chinook Helicopters from the Bravo Company 7/158th General Aviation Battalion US Army Reserve out of Gardner,” the team said.

The First Infantry Division Brass Band from Fort Riley will perform the national anthem.

Fans who buy a theme ticket will receive a Royals military jersey.

Sunday

Mets at Royals, 1:10 p.m.

The Royals are planning a pregame celebration for late Royals pitcher Al Fitzmorris on the field.

Sunday also is Mizzou Day. Gymnastics coach Shannon Walker will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Fans who buy a theme ticket will get a co-branded Royals and Mizzou windbreaker. It will be distributed inside Gate A, the Royals said.
