He’s leading the Kansas City Royals in home runs. Will he stay hot in June?
It’s been a banner month for Vinnie Pasquantino.
The Royals first baseman entered Tuesday’s action sporting a .350 batting average in May. And he was riding a season-high 10-game hitting streak, which came to an end in the Royals defeat.
Pasquantino’s best-ever hitting streak in KC? Eleven games.
During his hitting streak — which spanned from May 16-26 against the Cardinals, Giants, Twins and Reds — Pasquantino was batting .425 (17-for-40) with five RBIs. And he had hit safely in 20 of his last 24 games with 12 multi-hit efforts.
Tuesday’s game, however, was a struggle.
Pasquantino went 0-for-3 in the 7-2 defeat. He recorded two flyouts and a lineout. In his last at-bat, he was hit by a pitch.
The good news: After his resurgent May, Pasquantino leads the team in home runs and RBIs this season. He has eight home runs, 30 RBIs and has drawn 12 walks.
His career-best marks in those categories: 19 home runs, 97 RBIs and 40 walks, all from last season.
It’s also worth noting, Pasquantino missed time last season with a hand injury and started slow in 2025 while recovering from a hamstring strain.
