The Royals have won six games in a row. Here’s how 2 stars celebrated Saturday
The Royals have found themselves on opposite ends of six-game streaks in the first month of the MLB season.
They were on a six-game losing streak from April 14 to 19 and now find themselves on a six-game winning streak from April 20 to 26, including a 2-0 victory over the Houston Astros on Saturday, April 26.
How did they celebrate after the win? Two of them headed downtown for a fight.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship hosted UFC Fight Night to a sold-out T-Mobile Center crowd, and two Royals were highlighted on the jumbotron in between the fights.
The UFC shouted out catcher Salvador Perez and first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino, who both received loud ovations when they were shown sitting together.
The Royals players saw another local athlete celebrate a victory Saturday. Lightweight fighter David Onama, who is from Kansas City, defeated No. 12 Giga Chikadze by unanimous decision in what UFC commentator Paul Felder called “the biggest fight of his career.”
