Spring training is underway for the Kansas City Royals as they prepare for the 2025 MLB season. The team will look to build upon a 2024 season that saw them advance to the American League Division Series and host a playoff game at Kauffman Stadium for the first time since 2015.

A month from now, Kauffman Stadium will be full of fans seeing the Royals begin their chase of a World Series, led by 2024 MVP candidate Bobby Witt Jr. First pitch for Opening Day is scheduled for 3:10 p.m. Thursday, March 27, as the Royals take on AL Central rival Cleveland Guardians.

Fans can get tickets for the game now, and a few sections inside the stadium are already sold out on the Royals’ official ticket website. Here’s what else you need to know before heading to Opening Day.

How much are Opening Day tickets?

The cheapest ticket available for the Royals’ first game of the regular season is $38 in section 433, before fees. It’s also $38 in section 405. These seats are on the sides of the upper deck of the stadium and gives fans an unobstructed view of the field.

For $41, you can sit in section 421, which is in the middle of the upper deck. Prices will also vary in the same section depending on where the seat is located; there’s another seat available for $48 in section 421.

The closer you get to the field, the more the ticket cost. A single ticket in section 214 costs $118, while a ticket in section 221 is $146. A seat in the lower deck in section 135 is $207, and another seat in section 111 is $117.

The fountain deck is standing room only for $207 per person, but it includes food and beverage.

Tickets are also available on resale sites like SeatGeek. Prices start at $45 in the upper deck before fees.

Where can I park at Kauffman Stadium?

The Royals charge $21 for general parking and $31 for reserved parking for each game at the Truman Sports Complex. Depending on the attendance, you may be able to park right outside Kauffman Stadium or on the opposite side of GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

You can buy parking passes online. Your pass must be purchased before arriving at the toll gates.

Does Kauffman Stadium have a bag policy?

Each fan is allowed to carry one clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag. The bag can’t be any larger than 12-by-12-by-6 inches. Backpacks are not allowed.

Fans can also carry a 1-gallon clear plastic freezer bag — a Ziploc bag or something similar — and a small clutch bag no larger than 9 inches by 5 inches, which is subject to search. The clutch bag doesn’t have to be clear.

Exceptions can be made for medical reasons or diaper bags for infants and toddlers.

What is not allowed inside Kauffman Stadium?

You cannot bring hard-sided coolers, alcohol or non-clear liquid containers — including reusable water bottles — inside Kauffman Stadium. You can bring food that resembles individual portions in a clear, plastic bag no larger than 1 gallon. You can also bring in unopened plastic water bottles that are 1 liter or smaller.

Soft-sided single juice, milk containers or ADA-required liquids may be allowed in as well, according to the Royals. Sports drinks, such as Gatorade, are also allowed as long as they are unopened and less than a liter.

The following items are also prohibited inside Kauffman Stadium at all times:

  • Aerosol cans

  • Banners or flags with sticks in them

  • Baseball bats

  • Beach balls and other inflatable items

  • Bullhorns and other noisemakers that are deemed unacceptable by Kauffman Stadium staff, like cowbells

  • Brooms that are taller than four feet

  • Cameras with lenses that are larger than 12 inches

  • Items that could be projectiles, such as toys

  • Lasers and laser pens

  • Pets or other animals that aren’t there for service purposes

  • Unmanned aerial vehicles

  • Weapons and fireworks—this includes all guns and knives

  • Wrapped presents

Stadium staff will ask you to return these items to your car or throw them away. Restrictions can change at any time.
