The Kansas City Royals trio of Bobby Witt Jr., Salvador Perez and Seth Lugo continue to be recognized for their regular-season contributions.

On Thursday, each player garnered All-MLB honors after leading the Royals to their first postseason appearance since 2015. The selections were divided equally between 50% fan voting and 50% from a panel of experts.

Witt, 24, was named the All-MLB First Team at shortstop. He led MLB with a .332 batting average and 211 hits. Witt finished the 2024 campaign with 32 homers, 109 RBIs and an .977 OPS (on-base plus slugging).

In recent weeks, Witt has earned multiple postseason honors.

Witt received both the Rawlings Gold Glove Award and Louisville Slugger Silver Slugger Award. He was also nominated as a finalist for the 2024 American League MVP Award alongside New York Yankees teammates Juan Soto and Aaron Judge.

Perez and Lugo were named to the All-MLB Second Team. Both enjoyed stellar seasons with the Royals.

Perez, 34, earned his third All-MLB honor since the inception of the award in 2019. He is one of two catchers — joining Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto — to be recognized three times by the league.

This season, Perez led all qualified MLB catchers with 104 RBIs. He produced a .271 batting average with 55 extra-base hits and a .456 slugging percentage. Additionally, Perez earned a Silver Slugger and won the 2024 Roberto Clemente Award.

Lugo is the Royals’ third All-MLB Award honoree. Only the San Diego Padres had more, with four.

In his first campaign with the Royals, Lugo finished 16-9 with a 3.00 ERA in 33 starts. He made his first All-Star team and set career marks for innings pitched, wins and strikeouts.

The Royals relied on Lugo as a frontline starter. He limited opponents to a .229 batting average and also won a Gold Glove Award at his position.

Lugo could be in line for more hardware. He is a finalist for the 2024 AL Cy Young Award alongside Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal and Cleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase.
