Alex Gordon making strides in recovery from groin injury
Ned Yost was meeting reporters in the Royals dugout Friday when injured outfielder Alex Gordon walked past with his glove.
“Alex, you going out to play catch?” Yost asked.
Gordon was too far past to answer, but yes, Gordon played some catch in the outfield.
It’s another step in the process of recovery from a Grade 2-plus strain of his left groin he suffered while attempting to make a catch in a game on July 8. The recovery time issued then was eight weeks and that hasn’t changed.
“He’s still doing stuff on the treadmill,” Yost said. “He’s moving around. He’s getting better slowly but surely, but he’s still a ways away.”
