Kansas City Royals’ Monday game vs. Chicago White Sox postponed. Here’s the plan now
The Kansas City Royals’ series opener against the Chicago White Sox has been postponed due to inclement weather.
Monday’s game, washed out by rain, was set to kick off a three-game series. The teams will now play a straight doubleheader on Tuesday.
Game 1 is scheduled for 3:40 p.m. CT and Game 2 will follow approximately 30-45 minutes after conclusion of the first.
Fans can attend both games of the doubleheader in Chicago if they originally had tickets to Tuesday’s scheduled contest.
The Royals are expected to keep their initial pitching rotation Tuesday. Brady Singer and Jordan Lyles are slated to start.
The Royals are currently on a six-game road trip. They were swept by the Toronto Blue Jays last weekend and have a record of 44-100 this season.
This is the seventh season in team history in which the Royls have lost 100 or more games. The Royals are six losses shy of matching the worst record in franchise history: 56-106, in 2005.
This season, the Royals have split 10 games with the White Sox. KC won two of three games against the White Sox last week at Kauffman Stadium.
