The Kansas City Royals finished up a series against the Texas Rangers on Wednesday, closing out a winless home stand with a 12-3 loss at Kauffman Stadium. Home struggles have been all too common for a KC team that will end the month of April with just one home win.

The Royals began the season 1-6 at home before things started to look up on the road. KC took two of three from the Giants and, if not for a 10th-inning blown save, were poised to take two of three from the Rangers in Arlington, Texas.

But a return to The K did not bring better results for a struggling Royals squad that has now dropped six in a row — three against the Braves and three more to the Rangers. Tuesday’s game came with some boos, as Royals fans expressed frustration with the way the team was playing in the sixth inning.

That was the backdrop for Wednesday, as KC fell to 4-15 and 1-12 at home. Up next: an off-day on Thursday followed by a road trip to face the Angels, Diamondbacks and Twins.
