Royals manager Matt Quatraro will rejoin the club Monday for its series opener against the Texas Rangers, the team announced. He had missed the previous five games after testing positive for COVID-19.

Quatraro was quarantined at his home starting last Wednesday while the Royals were playing the Toronto Blue Jays at Kauffman Stadium.

Bench coach Paul Hoover served as the interim manager in the final two games of that series and three in San Francisco. The Royals won two of three games against the Giants.
