Pitcher Daniel Lynch is expected to make his first start since going on the injured list with a blister on his left index finger. However, his start will come with Triple-A Omaha and not with the Kansas City Royals.

Lynch, a left-hander, went on the IL on June 23. He’s already missed two full times through the Royals’ starting rotation. He’s not eligible to return from the IL until July 8.

Lynch, 25, made his major-league debut in the starting rotation for the Royals last year.

So far this season, he’s made 13 starts with a 4.95 ERA and a 3-7 record with a 1.54 WHIP, 65 strikeouts and 30 walks in 63 2/3 innings.
