The Royals’ last impression was a good one. But it’s been a minute since they’ve played.

They defeated the Detroit Tigers 3-1 on Saturday and will not have taken the field again for a game until they open a three-game home series against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday.

Hunter Dozier and the bullpen had excellent outings on Saturday. And the Royals might be on a small winning streak if starting pitcher Brad Keller had received some run support the day before.

We know about the Royals’ overall woes at the plate, but let’s not forget that some good things happened in the Tigers series. We broke it all down Tuesday morning on SportsBeat Live, presented here as a SportsBeat KC podcast with Star beat writer Lynn Worthy and columnists Vahe Gregorian and Sam McDowell.
