The Kansas City Royals have a new schedule for the 2022 season following the end of the owners’ lockout earlier this month.

When is Opening Day for the Royals?

Opening Day for the Royals is scheduled for 3:10 p.m. Thursday, April 7 against the Cleveland Guardians at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. The first 40,000 fans will receive a magnetic schedule. Tickets are available through the Royals’ website.

What changes were made to the schedule by the lockout?

The Royals were originally scheduled to open the season with three games at Cleveland. Those games were added to the end of the original schedule, meaning the Royals will play six consecutive games (Sept. 30-Oct. 5) at Cleveland to end the season.

The originally scheduled April 4-7 series against the Chicago White Sox at Kauffman Stadium will be made up with split doubleheaders at home on Tuesday, May 17 and Wednesday, Aug. 10, and by adding a game on what was a mutual off day, Monday, Aug. 22.
