Kansas City Royals fans, others show love for retiring World Series hero Wade Davis

One of the heroes of the Kansas City Royals’ World Series championship in 2015 announced his retirement on Wednesday.

The pre-Thanksgiving Day news about Davis’ retirement from Major League Baseball at age 36 inspired an outpouring of appreciation from fans and former teammates in KC, as well as many others around baseball.

The stoic and stalwart no-nonsense trio Kelvin Herrera, Davis and Greg Holland formed an unbeatable combination out of the Royals’ bullpen during their run to the title.
