A plan to have all 30 Major League Baseball teams conduct a season in and around Phoenix, using the Diamondbacks’ stadium and 10 spring training facilities, is reportedly under review. Games would be televised, but no fans would be present in the stands ... and it’s also possible that no players would be allowed in the dugouts to ensure social spacing.

Royals manager Mike Matheny said in a recent conference call with Kansas City reporters that he’s all for helping the country return to a sense of normalcy, even if that means bringing back baseball in such an unusual way. Star Royals beat writer Lynn Worthy addresses the topic on this episode of the daily SportsBeat KC podcast with Blair Kerkhoff.
