Royals center fielder Lorenzo Cain has a bobblehead stashed in his locker, but it’s not the one that will be given out to the first 15,000 fans through the gates before a 1:10 p.m. first pitch Saturday in a game televised on Fox Sports 1.

“Omaha had made one, so they sent me a few,” Cain said.

He’s only seen pictures of the bobblehead the Royals will give away, but the existence of those statuettes depicting one of his many diving catches during the club’s postseason run last October is a thrill for Cain.

Asked if it means he’s arrived as a true big-league player, Cain flashed his trademark grin.

“I’ve always wanted my own bobblehead,” Cain said. “It’s finally here, so it’s excited. I’m definitely excited about having my own bobblehead coming out.”

The only downside is that it might provide fodder for new Salvador Perez videos on Instagram that feature Cain or his likeness.

“I’m sure he’ll come up with something,” Cain said. “It’s a wait-and-see process.”
