Tickets for a possible American League wild-card game and the AL Division Series for the Royals at Kauffman Stadium go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Tickets can be purchased online at royals.com/postseason or at the Kauffman Stadium box office.
Ticket buyers at the stadium will be separated into two groups.
The first will have wristbands they have obtained in advance. Those fans will be part of a drawing for the opportunity to buy up to four seats for each game. The drawing to determine the line order takes place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
How and where do fans obtain a wristband?
The first chance is at Wednesday’s game at Kauffman Stadium. Wristbands will be available at Guest Services during the series finale against the White Sox.
They’ll also be available at Kauffman Stadium on Thursday from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
Fans have been directed to park in Lot M. There is no overnight parking at the Truman Sports Complex, and the gates won’t open until 8:30 a.m.
The second group will be those without a wristband, but the wristband crowd will get first shot at tickets.
But not even a wristband guarantees a ticket, the Royals say.
A wild-card game would be played on Sept. 30. The American League Division Series would start on Oct. 2. The ALDS dates are Oct. 2-3, 5-6, 8.
If the game or games are not necessary and not played, all single-game purchases will be refunded to the card on which they were bought. The ticket holder also will receive a refund of the per ticket convenience fee. But per order processing/shipping and handling fees are non-refundable.
Information about American League Championship Series and World Series tickets will be announced at a later date.
