Royals set 25-man roster for opening day on Monday

The Royals have completed their 25-man roster on for opening day on Monday against the Chicago White Sox at Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals selected the contracts of right-hander Ryan Madson and left-hander Franklin Morales and placed left-handers Tim Collins and Luke Hochevar, who are recovering from Tommy John surgery, on the disabled list.

The Royals optioned left-hander Brian Flynn to Triple-A Omaha and assigned six others there as well. The six are right-hander Joe Blanton, catcher J.C. Boscan, outfielder Moises Sierra and infielders Ryan Jackson, Whit Merrifield and Gabriel Noriega.
