The Royals stayed hot for their penultimate game in the Cactus League, knocking off the Padres 4-1 on Tuesday night. Jeremy Guthrie limited San Diego to one run in six innings of work.

Guthrie finished his spring with a 2.63 ERA.

Alcides Escobar scored after a pair of singles and a fielding error by the Padres in the first inning. Kendrys Morales added an RBI single in that inning.

In the second, Mike Moustakas singled and came around to score after a single by Omar Infante and a groundball out by Jarrod Dyson.

Eric Hosmer scored on a wild pitch from Padres reliever Marcos Mateo in the sixth.
