Baseball is back on Valentine’s Day.

The Royals revealed on Tuesday that pitchers and catchers will report to spring training in Surprise, Ariz., on Feb. 14. The announcement included a slew of other key dates for their camp schedule.

The club will hold its first workout for pitchers and catchers on Feb. 15. The rest of the players will report to camp on Feb. 17 before the first full-squad workout on Feb. 18.

The 35-game Cactus League schedule will begin on Feb. 25 at Surprise Stadium, where the Royals will open as the road team against the Texas Rangers, their co-tenant in Surprise. The Royals will also finish the spring season against the Rangers, traveling to Arlington for two games (March 30 and April 1) at Globe Life Park before opening the regular season at the Minnesota Twins on Monday, April 3.

The club’s camp and Cactus League schedule could be slightly affected by the presence of the fourth World Baseball Classic, the international event that takes place in the spring every four years. The Royals could have a handful of players participating in the event, including catcher Salvador Perez for the Venezuelan team.

The Royals said Tuesday that they will play host to the Venezuelan National Team on Wednesday, March 8, as it prepares for the event.

For individual tickets to spring training, fans can go to tickets.com starting Saturday, Dec. 10 for an online presale. According to the Royals, the Surprise Recreation Campus also accepts mail orders as well as online orders. For more information and a ticket brochure, fans can call (623) 222-2222 or visit www.surprisespringtraining.com.
