Donation will help shape College Baseball Hall Fame in Overland Park

The College Baseball Hall of Fame in Overland Park has received a $1.5 million gift in honor of a coach who will be part of the latest class of inductees.

The Willard and Pat Walker Charitable Foundation made the donation to honor Norm DeBriyn, who won 1,161 games over 33 seasons at Arkansas and took the Razorbacks to four College World Series.

The College Baseball Hall of Fame is working to establish its home at the Museum at Prairiefire. The Hall will feature the Norm DeBriyn Awards Gallery and the Norm DeBriyn Coaching Legends Corner.

“This generous gift will not only foster recognition of Coach DeBriyn’s illustrious career, but also further support to College Baseball Foundation’s mission to celebrate the history of lasting impact of college baseball,” said College Baseball Hall of Fame executive director Tom Jacobs.

DeBriyn is part of the 21-member class that will be honored at a Night of Champions dinner on Thursday at the Overland Park Marriott.

Others in the class include Mark McGwire (Southern California), David Price (Vanderbilt), Stephen Strasburg (San Diego State), Hubie Brooks (Arizona State) and current agent Scott Boras (University of Pacific).
