The Star’s high school athletes of the week (Jan. 22)

Kiara Brown

SCHOOL: Schlagle

YEAR: Sophomore

SPORT: Basketball

Brown turned in a triple-double, when she finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 12 steals against rival Washington on Tuesday. She followed that performance with a game where she had 17 points, seven rebounds, eight steals and eight assists against Atchison. She is averaging 11.6 points per game.

Dakota Miller

SCHOOL: Odessa

YEAR: Junior

SPORT: Wrestling

Miller, a 120-pound wrestler, coasted to a Missouri River Valley Conference championship on Saturday. He recorded first-period pins in all six matches to win the tournament. Miller has lost only once this season, and he is unbeaten against in-state opponents.
