The Star’s high school athletes of the week (May 6)

Dalton Lanpher

▪ SCHOOL: Rockhurst

▪ YEAR: Senior

▪ SPORT: Baseball

Lanpher churned out six extra-base hits over three games last week, tallying a home run, triple and four doubles in only 11 at-bats. He also contributed on the mound, where he threw a complete game in a 9-3 win against Shawnee Mission East on April 27.

Hallie Klanke

▪ SCHOOL: St. Thomas Aquinas

▪ YEAR: Freshman

▪ SPORT: Soccer

St. Thomas Aquinas won the Tournament of Champions in Burlington, Iowa, over the weekend, and while Klanke didn’t score once, she created the goals. The Saints scored seven times in three matches, and Klanke assisted on six of them.
