Kansas City-area high school basketball players nominated for McDonald's All-American games
The most prestigious high school All-American basketball games in the country have pegged a host of Kansas City-area players as potential participants.
Blue Springs South forward Kevin Puryear and Park Hill guard Landry Shamet have been nominated for the 38th annual McDonald’s All-American boys basketball game, which will be played April 1 in Chicago.
Blue Springs South forward Cloe’ Lane, Kearney forward Taylor Doan, Lee’s Summit guard Eriyonna Irvin, Park Hill forward Riana Everidge, Olathe South senior Kylee Kopatich and Leavenworth’s LaTashia Jones, Rachel Blackburn and Tyler Johnson are part of a list of nominees for the 14th annual McDonald's All-American girls game.
The boys and girls teams will be announced on Jan. 28. Nearly 500 players are part of each watch list.
The player of the year award winners will be revealed in March.
