The Star’s high school athletes of the week (Feb. 18)

SCHOOL: Blue Springs

YEAR: Junior

SPORT: Basketball

King had the hot hand for the Wildcats last week in victories against Raymore-Peculiar and Blue Springs South. He scored 41 points over the two games, draining seven of 11 three-pointers. He also had five rebounds in each game.

Morgan Laudan

SCHOOL: Paola

YEAR: Senior

SPORT: Basketball

Laudan scored the 1,000th point of her high school career in last week’s victory against Spring Hill, when she had 19 points. But she wasn’t done. In two Paola victories last week, she averaged 18 points, 15 rebounds and four assists per game.
