Between Leavenworth and Rock Bridge, you could field an entire Division I starting lineup, and that does not even include underclassmen who have yet to commit. The two teams tip off at 4 p.m. Saturday at Rock Bridge.

Leavenworth is the top-ranked team and defending state champion in Kansas Class 5A. The Pioneers are led by a trio of Big 12 and Big 10 recruits. Tyler Johnson is headed to Kansas, Rachel Blackburn signed with Nebraska and LaTashia Jones is going to Oklahoma State.

This will be the Pioneers’ first game back from a two-week break which started after a commanding 73-17 victory against Blue Valley North in the HyVee Shootout.

Rock Bridge, on the other hand, lost its last two games in the Naples Holiday Tournament but has the experience and star power to bounce back.

The Bruins lost seven seniors – including four D-I athlete – but returned Missouri signees Sophie Cunningham and Cierra Porter, who will try to lead them to a fourth consecutive team title. Porter is the reigning Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year.
