DaRon Davis

SCHOOL: Hogan Prep

YEAR: Junior

SPORT: Basketball

Hogan Prep won the Leavenworth Tournament last week, and Davis played a starring role. He had 28 points and 10 rebounds in a championship game victory against Raytown South, after putting up 21 points and 10 rebounds in a semifinal victory against Liberty. Davis has committed to Missouri to play football.

Jessica Wayne

SCHOOL: Piper

YEAR: Senior

SPORT: Basketball

Wayne broke her own single-game scoring school record twice last week and led the Pirates to a Panther Invitational tournament title. Wayne, a guard, scored 31 points against Eudora, 19 against St. James Academy and 32 points in the 65-59 championship victory over Paola. She is averaging 28 points, 8.1 rebounds, 6.7 steals and 3.5 assists per game.
