St. James Academy volleyball team wins more awards
The honors continue to roll in for the St. James Academy volleyball team.
Days after Audriana Fitzmorris was tabbed as the USA Today national player of the year, teammate Jenna Gray was announced as the Kansas Gatorade player of the year, and Nancy Dorsey was named as one of two American Volleyball Coaches Association high school coaches of the year.
Gray, a 6-foot-1 setter, helped lead the Thunder to a 43-1 record and the Kansas Class 5A state title with 778 assists, 289 blocks and 267 digs. She is currently ranked as the No. 11 recruit in her class by PrepVolleyball.com and is headed to Stanford next fall with Fitzmorris.
Dorsey has been the head coach of the Thunder since the school opened in 2005. She has a career record of 453-30, which includes seven state championships at St. James.
