Here’s the 913 Week 10 high school football review, including team’s overall record, conference record, last week’s result, this week’s result and a comment for teams whose season have not ended. The Kansas high school football state bracket playoffs continue with sectionals this week.

Eastern Kansas League

1. Bishop Miege (9-1, 5-1)

Beat Piper 61-12; Friday vs. Paola

Carter Putz threw for six touchdowns and Dawson Downing ran for three more in last week’s victory.

2. Blue Valley North (9-1, 5-1)

Lost to Olathe North 35-28; Season over

The Mustangs won seven straight games during the regular season, but lost in their first state playoff contest.

3. St. Thomas Aquinas (8-2, 4-1)

Beat Topeka Seaman 55-21; Friday at St. James Academy

Seven players were involved in Aquinas scoring plays in last week’s victory.

4. Blue Valley (8-2, 3-2)

Beat Shawnee Mission West 37-14; Friday at Lawrence

The Tigers are 2-1 in state bracket playoff games, since moving up to Class 6A in 2014.

Beat Shawnee Mission North 56-32; Friday vs. Blue Valley

The Chesty Lions stayed undefeated with four rushing touchdowns from J.D. Woods.

2. Olathe North (9-1, 5-0)

Beat Blue Valley North 35-28; Friday vs. Shawnee Mission East

The Eagles held a 14-0 advantage in the second half last week against Blue Valley North.

3. Shawnee Mission East (9-1, 4-1)

Beat Blue Valley Northwest 49-13; Friday at Olathe North

The Class 6A defending state champion Lancers scored 28 second-half points last week against the Huskies.

4. Olathe Northwest (7-2, 4-1)

Season over

5. Lawrence Free State (7-3, 3-3)

Beat Wichita West 49-0; Friday at Wichita Northwest

The Firebirds have held four of their last five opponents to single digits, with back-to-back shutouts.

6. Shawnee Mission West (7-3, 5-1)

Lost to Blue Valley 37-14; Season over

The Vikings ended their season with back-to-back losses after stringing together four straight wins.

The Indians had a tough draw to end the season, facing the Sunflower League’s No. 1 and No. 3 teams.

The Pioneers went 2-2 to end the season with a 2-1 record in district play, after starting 0-6.

The Thunder won their first state playoff game with three passing touchdowns from Trey Keith.
