YEAR: Sophomore
SPORT: Cross Country
Born won the Sunflower League cross country meet championship 5-kilometer race in 18 minutes, 2.70 seconds, which was 25 seconds faster than the runner-up. It was the third meet individual title for Born, who also won at the St. Thomas Aquinas Greg Wilson Classic and the Heartland Invitational in Ames, Iowa.

SCHOOL: Shawnee Mission North
YEAR: Senior
SPORT: Cross country
Akalu cruised to the Sunflower League cross country meet championship Saturday, finishing his 5-kilometer run in 15 minutes, 37.50 seconds, which equaled a 16-second victory. He remained undefeated this season against Kansas high school running opponents.
