The Star’s high school football players of the week (Oct. 8)
Missouri: Dae’Ron Jones
SCHOOL: Raytown
YEAR: Sophomore
Jones intercepted two passes in the fourth quarter to seal Raytown’s 14-13 victory against North Kansas City last Friday. His sixth and seventh interceptions of the season helped Raytown beat North Kansas City for the first time since 2001.

Kansas: Joey Dolan
SCHOOL: Blue Valley North
YEAR: Senior
Dolan led an 18-point fourth quarter comeback to lift the Mustangs to a win last week over undefeated Blue Valley. He completed 16 of 22 passes for 168 yards and three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Overall, he had 274 passing yards on the night. The decisive touchdown came with 22 seconds remaining, when he connected with Charlie Brock.
