SPORT: Girls tennis
Tiefel led the Tigers to a second-place finish in the Eastern Kansas League girls tennis tournament by winning the singles bracket championship on Saturday. She dropped just seven games across four matches in the tournament and improved her record to 15-1 this season.

Clayton Adams
SCHOOL: Kearney
YEAR: Junior
SPORT: Cross country
Adams was the top Kansas City area finisher Saturday at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Ark. In a field of 658 runners, he placed fourth in a time of 15 minutes, 7.8 seconds — the third fastest 5-kilometer time a Missouri high school runner has clocked this season.
