The Star’s high school football players of the week (Sept. 24)
Missouri: Dean Clemons
SCHOOL: Truman
YEAR: Senior
After trailing through three quarters, Truman rallied for a 36-15 win against Liberty last week, with Clemons providing a string of big plays. He had four touchdowns in the game — three of them in the fourth quarter. In total, he ran for 104 yards and three scores and also returned an interception for a touchdown.

Kansas: AJ Totta
SCHOOL: Blue Valley
YEAR: Senior
Totta rushed for 205 yards and two touchdowns in 28 carries last week in the Tigers’ 42-35 victory against Bishop Miege, the Kansas Class 4A Division I defending state champion. He also had two receptions for 35 yards and helped Blue Valley improve to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Kansas League.
