The Star’s high school athletes of the week for Nov. 5
Regan Pittman
SCHOOL: St. Thomas Aquinas
YEAR: Junior
SPORT: Volleyball
Pittman led the Saints to a two-set victory against St. James Academy in the Kansas Class 5A volleyball state tournament. In the title match, she had 15 kills and just one error. Throughout five matches in the two-day tournament, Pittman recorded 50 kills, a .600 hitting efficiency and 19 blocks.

Clayton Adams
SCHOOL: Kearney
YEAR: Sophomore
SPORT: Cross country
Adams finished first at the Missouri Class 4, Sectional 4 meet on Saturday and, in the process, defeated defending champion Stephen Mugeche by seven seconds. Adams finished the race in 15 minutes, 42.3 seconds, which gives him momentum entering this week’s state meet in Jefferson City.
