The Star’s high school football players of the week for Oct. 30
Missouri: Devon Bryant
SCHOOL: Liberty
YEAR: Senior
Bryant opened the postseason the same way he finished the regular season. He ran for 170 yards and two touchdowns — and caught a third score — in a 42-35 win against Park Hill South in the first round of Class 5 districts. Bryant has scored multiple touchdowns in four straight games, three of them Liberty victories.

Kansas: Gunnar Englund
SCHOOL: Shawnee Mission East
YEAR: Senior
Englund only threw eight passes in the Lancers’ 56-12 victory against Wyandotte, but he made the most of them. He completed five passes for 139 yards and four touchdowns. All four of his touchdowns went to different receivers. With the victory, SM East improved its record to 8-0.
