Liberty North, Lee's Summit West receive national baseball rankings
Liberty North and Lee's Summit West moved into the MaxPreps Xcellent 50 national baseball rankings this week. They are the only two teams from the state to appear in the poll.
Liberty North, ranked 38th, won the Northland Tournament on Saturday, defeating rival Liberty 6-0 in the championship game at Oak Park High School. The Eagles, 19-1, have won 17 straight games since an 11-4 loss to Blue Springs South on March 22.
Lee's Summit West, 18-3, check in at No. 50 after winning all three of its games at the River City Festival in Lawrence over the weekend. The Titans' three losses have come by a combined six runs. They have won 10 straight games.
